>>...your cat?
>>

Hi Elizabeth, good to see you on the boards again. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't been on the boards for a long time. As a matter of fact, when I went to sign in to answer this post, it took me a while to remember my password. Ha!

To answer your bathing question: No, I do not bath my 4 cats, however for the past year or so, I've been taking them to the groomer to be bathed and brushed out. I take turns with them, one cat to the groomer every two to three weeks so each cat is being groomed approximately once every couple of months.

As you probably remember, I've always taken Simba in for a lion cut, at least once but sometimes twice a year. Then I also started taking Katrina since she's long haired, just to 'pretty' her up with a bath and a trim.

The vet suggested that I take KatyKatt to the groomers to shave her butt since she's getting too fat to keep it clean. She weighs 18.1 lbs and checks out to be very healthy by the vet, but is just fat and lazy and lies around all the time. She is now my largest cat and looks like the drawings by B. Kliban and his fat cats. Have you ever seen those?

So I started taking both KatyKatt and Samantha to the groomers too. Her shop is less than a mile from my home, she is great with the cats, doesn't drug them or anything like that, takes only about an hour to both bathe and brush out and only charges $22 per cat, except for Simba when he get the full lion cut. That's about $45 and worth every cent of it. She says that all of my cats are so well-behaved; a real joy to groom.

They smell so sweet when she's finished and it has really cut down on the shedding in my house. Another thing that I've found to be great to control the shedding, is the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner. They are pricey but in my opinion, well worth it!

I do have some pictures of the cats at my 'new' groomers, but unfortunately haven't scanned them yet so will have to post some older ones. Sorry! When David comes over this weekend, I'll have him scan some for me as well as the cats in their strollers. Ha! I'm a crazy cat lady!
