He does have one of those round toys with the track and ball that you mentioned cyclopsgrl but he doen't want to play with it until everyone in the house is sleeping!!!

I sent one to my parents for their cat a few years ago (she is no longer with us). She pretty much only played with it at night. The first few times, my Dad said he jumped up out of bed sure a burgler was in the house, LOL. Eventually, he got into the habit of flipping it upside down at night as she drove them nuts with it in the wee hours, LOL.

Ping pong balls are very inexpensive (get in the sporting section of WalMart, etc.) My boys play with them and I have heard of many other cats liking them... They are light weight and really move when batted by a paw.
