The following link has great information on the process and procedures involved in setting up a critter transport. It tells you what most transport lists need to know about the animals, what details are expected to have been planned in advance, and what lists to contact.

Each list is different re: what and for whom they will transport. Most will not transport unneutered or unvaccinated animals, and while some will transport from shelter/rescue to adopter, others will only transport between shelters/rescues.

On that page you'll find some links to major transport groups; most states have their own transport lists, too, and calling rescues and asking can be a good resource.
