Four years ago tomorrow our cat Greta went to Rainbow Bridge. She was 16 and had a cancerous tumor. We didn't see the point in putting her through an operation which only had a 50/50 chance of being successful, especially at her age.
I adopted Greta when she was about 8 months old from a neighbor.I think that Greta had some Siamese in her: she had a loud, whining voice and talked almost all the time. She was independent and only became a lap cat as she got older. Greta was a sweet cat, though and loved attention on her terms. She preferred being an only cat and had a loud purr that sounded like a lawn mower.
I have two other cats now who are completely different. They're sweet, but can never actually replace Greta. She was one of a kind. RIP.
Ellen
