The cat may or may not adjust to becoming a pet again. Is she friendly and affectionate? This would be a good sign. However, even an aloof cat will adjust, although she may never be a snuggle bunny, she will probably like an occasional petting.



As far as using the litterbox is concerned, she should do all right. Most cats are easily box trained even as adults although sometimes there is a problem with stress or territorial marking. Since she will be an only cat that shouldn't be too much of an issue.



Digging in the house plants is another problem. Usually cats who dig are foiled by small rocks or pebbles or chicken wire buried underneath the soil about half an inch. There is no way to predict whether or not your cat will be a digger. However, there are many houseplants that are toxic to cats, and they will chew on some plants sometimes, even the dangerous ones.



Has the cat been spayed? If yes she may adapt very quickly to being a pet - if not she will need to be fixed ASAP. Also you probably should take her straight to the vet for an exam to be sure she didn't pick up any diseases while out.
