I was hoping someone could offer advice for the situation my friend and her cat have found themselves in. My friend is moving here to california from texas tomorrow, leaving texas at 6am. She has three cats that she will be brining in a car with herself and her mother who is helping her move. The main concern is about one of her cats though, who is an extremely sensitive, nervous formerly ferral cat. He has never trusted a human being except for my friend, even though he has lived with her parents for 3 years. Anyway, the trip will be over a day long in total. Originally, all the cats were going to be kept in a large animal transporter, with a litter box inside if they need to use it. But it now turns out there is absolutely no room in the vehicle for that. So they have to go in smaller one-cat sized carriers with no room for a litter box. My friend is certain that her ferrel cat will not leave his carrier due to the fear that he will be in, and will not be able to urinate if he needs to. It will be a minimum of 12 hours before they stop at a hotel to rest. She wants to know if there will be anything serious as a result of the trip... of him refusing to/not having the ability to urinate for that long a period of time, and if there is anything she can do to reduce his anxiety and make things easier for him. As she will be leaving literally within 9 hours from now (9:30 PST), any quick responses would be greatly appreciated. Or any links to info, even a a pet hotline or something. Thank you.
