I do not know why your cat is doing what it is doing, but will share this with you.

I have had 4 cats in my 32 years, every one was declawed (front paws only). As with anything there is a difference of opinioins, just like politics, etc. I am not here to say I'm for or against declawing....but just to say that its' probably not the litter that's bothering your cat.

Since he/she is already using the litter box to deficate in she likely wouldn't even make the effort to potty there if the litter was bothering her that much. Hopefully a more experienced person will respond to you soon, and they will likely recommend Natures Miracle and or another enzime (sp?) spray.

Sounds like maybe your baby is acting out...much like mine in the prior post, except my kitty does his urinating once in a blue moon and only on my bed, on two different comforters, and I've even rotated the comforter and sprayed it.

Cats do odd things...I hope that you find some answers soon as I am in a similar boat and it's very discouraging when they urinate where they are not suppose to!
