The kitten is not allowed out at night or when I'm not home, so he is well watched.
This had actually been the first time I've ever seen Orestes agressive in the 10 years I've known him (he only recently became mine). He has always been top cat but tends just to walk away if too annoyed. Well, hopefully it was a one time incident.
