It might be best to isolate the kitten for a bit and let the big cat just sniff noses under the door. The problem is that he could do damage to a kitten that young.

It does sound like he's just asserting his dominance, but there is no reason to take chances. Allow short, supervised visits for the next week or so and see if things get better.
