I am glad you rethought putting the animals in the car you are towing. This could be a real problem!

If the largest cage you can get in your truck is carrier sized, then you'll have to make the best of it. Line the cat's cage with some newspaper or something just in case of accidents. During the rest stops, let the cat out into the truck - closed doors and windows of course - and offer a litterbox and food and water. Don't be surprised if nothing happens until you reach the motel for the night however! Be sure all animals have tags with ID just in case.
