We have an 8 month old Siamese declawed and spayed. She was an only cat up until 3 weeks ago when we bought another Siamese; this one a male. They have the same mother but are from different litters. After one day they were great friends and now nap together and even groom each other. The problem is that Jo, our 8 month old, has grown distant since we got Franklin (the new kitten). They will play together all day but when my wife and I are at home she spends most of her time under the bed.

She used to be very friendly and play with us all the time. Whatever room we'd be in, that's where she'd be, usually on one of our laps or sitting next to us. Now whenever one of us approaches her she just runs away and hides. If Franklin is around she'll play with him but is not interested in us anymore at all. The odd thing is that when we go up to bed she'll still climb up on bed and sleep with us on our legs. The only time we're able to pet her during the day is when we catch her as she's coming past us or if she's napping with Franklin and she's still groggy. When we do get to hold her and pet her she purrs like she used to but she doesn't seek out attention like before.

We don't force the issue but it's such a change in her personality that it bothers us. Franklin will come and sit on our laps and play with us but Jo is no longer interested. Any advice on how to get our old loving cat back?
