Quick and easy - place a plastic carpet protector runner or mat, the kind with the nubs on the bottom to keep it from slipping - put it nubs up just inside the door. It will keep kitty from the door

but you might be better off in the long run trying to find out why your cat is meowing at the door and removing the source of the problem. I've had a couple of cats that did this. Once it was because another cat was coming around and tormenting my cat. I started by talking to the owners of the other cat about letting him loose to roam the neighborhood.

Once it was becuase the cat was bored out of his skull. There were no good nature watching views from the apartment so I got a 10 gallon fish tank and filled it with fantail goldfish for kitty to hunt. A birdfeeder outside one of the windows would have done the same. It was a one day cure.

In the final case I lived in an older building that was having work done on it every couple months. When ever a workman came around, my cat complained. I had to just live with it that year.

If boredom and loneliness turn out to be the source, consider a second cat if the landlord will allow it.

Best of luck!

Purrs,
Elizabeth
