Hi,

Declawing should not be a consideration. It is a very painful procedure that involves amputating the first digit of each toe. Many vets, mine included, have stopped declawing because it's inhumane. Declawed cats can have lifelong pain and some become biters. I would never have a cat declawed.

Why are you considering declawing? There are almost always better solutions if a cat is destroying furniture. Declawing should only be done if there is a medical reason for it.
