Alright well I am in an interesting (and definitely not ideal) circumstance because my cat lives alone right now. I work in a huge apartment community and around a month ago a tenant's lease was terminated and long story short, her kitten was neglected and had no access to food/water/litter box and a sliding door was open with the screen in while it was 7 degrees for days. I got attached to her and we removed her from the apartment and set her up with her own apartment closer to the office. Where I live, I can't have pets, but I will be moving in with her in around 2 months. She is around 8 months old. I visit her several times a day, as does a groundslady (her "godmother" . She REALLY wants to be an office cat but she has too much kitten playfulness right now, she likes to bite and claw although it has been gradually getting better. She is super affectionate.
Here is the problem. According to the neighbor yesterday (thank God she's on the end so she only has one neighbor) in the middle of the night she meows. I have heard her yowl before, when we first took her, I put her in the apartment and then ran back out to my car to get food or something and I could hear her from a good 30 yards away. I know it's not really an ideal situation, I wish I could live with her right now and I know she will make a great bed buddy. But I am trying to think of what all I can do to ease her anxiety. I am going to buy her a better variety of toys (she has a zillion toy mice) and just got a new claw-pad thing for her, and will try to play with her more at the end of the day so she gets some energy out. But does anyone have any other suggestions?
