It just hit me that my husband and I hold our cats the way people hold human babies, but we do it differently. If I'm walking around the house with a cat in my arms, I hold them over my shoulder, in the position that you'd hold a baby you were trying to burp. My husband cradles them so that the cats are sort of laying on their backs.
Here's the funny part--If I try to hold them the way my husband does, they wiggle and squirm away. Same thing happens if my husband tries to hold them over his shoulder. I wish I could remember how these patterns started and who trained whom. Hmmmm.
Do your cats have specific ways in which they like to be held?
