>>I am the boss in my house.
>>

DOH!!! I thought you were going to be the first person to admit that you are actually the boss.

OK then, it will be me. Yes, I'm saying it. I am the boss of this house. (Actually DH and I are co-bosses, but that's another story.) As far as the cats are concerned, I'm the boss. I make the rules. I regulate when and how much they can eat. (Well, the one who's on a diet gets regulated.) I don't allow them into certain rooms where they could get hurt. I'm the one who decides what is and is not allowed to be scratched upon. Actually, I'm more like "mom" than "boss" whereas my cats are like teenagers always trying to steal the car keys and thinking I didn't notice that they broke curfew yet again.

Just because I'm boss doesn't mean my kitties always obey. )) Neither does it mean I'm a tyrant. As much as I can, I let them think they are boss. Whenever possible, I give them choices so they can make up their own minds and behave as they please. But if they were really boss, I can assure you, they'd never go to the vet, never eat diet prescription food, never worry about scratching up the couches, etc..

Go ahead and laugh now. I can take it. Thick fur....
