I think it's true that cats (and other animals) will have a stronger bond with some people and a weaker bond with others.

It probably has to do with the way you treat Gabby. I think animals can tell people apart based on how they treat them/act towards them and sense who likes them and who doesn't.

If the rest of your family isn't too fond of her because she hasn't been all that friendly with them, chances are they're not continuing to create a bond with with her... but you are. It might not be how much time you spend together, but the quality of that time.
