Sounds like Sam the Monster Cat from H*LL, part Siamese and alternately the sweetest, most affectionate cat I've had and the nastiest, meanest son of a b**** I've seen (hence his name).

Over the course of time, I've learned to recognize Sam's body language that says "back off lady" and obey. Its the tail moving a bit faster (it never stops moving) and/or the ears changing position, or even the way he shifts his position. He's drawn plenty of blood from me.

Many cats get overstimulated and get aggressive - perhaps this is the case? Do you play with your hands - don't, use a toy (a string or measuring tape works great).

I tried several techniques to stop his aggressiveness (when I can't back off in time) and found what works best for me is a very loud NO or STOP. Then I give HIM time to disengage claws or fangs. (When I've swatted his nose he's started boxing with me, with claws, so that is not an option, though I've heard that is a good technique as that's why mama cats do.)

He's even gotten to the point that when he lunges for me, he freezes in mid-motion with my hand/arm in his mouth and his paws grasping my arm, ears back and watching me for my reaction. I don't react, just wait. Eventually he'll let go, without drawing blood, and go back to normal. Our "incidents" have greatly decreased in frequency and severity.

Sam the Monster Cat from H*LL, a real hunka hunka he-man-kit who ain't afraid of nuthin'.
