My cat, Murray, and I have a very tight relationship. He greets me at the door every night when I come home, and he meows up a storm, probably telling me how mean I am for leaving him alone! He rubs up against me and wants to be petted.
He sleeps with me every night (he had stopped for a while, but has started up again since I came back from a weeklong vacation recently - I guess he missed me). When I use the computer, he stretches out on his side and lays on the floor beside or behind my chair, looking utterly content and peaceful. When I watch TV, he lays at my feet. He is my little shadow, following me everywhere.
We have conversations with each other - he will meow, and I will say something back to him (or meow in return), and he will meow again, and so on. He understands some English words, like when I give him snacks in the evening and ask him if he wants a "snackie-wackie." He knows what that means, and he meows a special needy, somewhat whiny meow.
Murray bonded with me from the very first. He was a stray who decided to move in with me one night, and he slept with me that very first night already. We have been very close ever since.
