I have a 2 year cat that I think would benefit from a new friend. He is playful and quite out-going, but bored when left alone and frequently wakes me up at night to play. I want to adopt another cat from a rescue organization, but am not sure if I should get a kitten (final personality slightly unknown) or an adult cat (personality more guaranteed, but might be more difficult to introduce to my cat). Any advice would be appreciated.
