We have had a 2 year old cat now for almost 7 months now. We got her from friends who were moving. While I was away this past weekend my husband decided to adopt a friend for our older cat. This older cat who we call kitty her former parents named her fugly and I can't stand that name, and haven't found one that she seems to want to come to, so kitty it is (so I feel bad she doesn't have a "name". Anyway kitty is very moody to begin with, and has a kinda mean side to her. She is just set in her ways already I suppose. Well my husband brought home "Jasmine" on Saturday. Kitty is not happy at all. I feel bad for her, I don't want her to feel like she is not wanted. Spending any alone time with her is hard. She is hissing and growling at me and my husband. Occasionally she will allow us to pet her, but not like she use to. She wants absolutely nothing to do with us or the kitten right now. I understand why she is upset with the kitten, but is it normal that she hisses and growls at us? Even when the kitten isn't around? I feel bad for the kitten and the cat right now. And I am wondering if we made a bad move. Can someone please help me?
