He's a cutie!

I don't think you should let him have contact with the rats. Right now he thinks of them as playmates, but he could decide that they are dinner and you might not be able to move fast enough to save them. Cats are very instinctive when it comes to prey and a rat just might prove to be irrisistable.

As for the ferrets, if he is staying out of their way this is best. He might warm up to them, but he might also just continue to avoid them. You must supervise very carefully when you have the ferrets and the kitten together just in case somebody gets bent out of shape.
