Hi There,

Actually, a month really isn't that long. It can take several months for cats to get along, and there is the possibility that they will just learn to tolerate each other.

If possible, it might be a good idea to isolate the newcomer in his own room with all the necessities for at least a week. The cats will do a lot of sniffing under the door and gradually get used to each other's smells. Hissing and growling is normal. You can also try getting a small towel, wiping down one cat with it, then the other. Then let each cat spend time sniffing and spending time with the towel.

Slow and gradual introductions are always best with cats.

Regards,

PHKitkat
