Hi There,

I think that cats do best with at least one other cat in the household. As long as you are prepared for the adjustment period, I think adding another feline to your home is a great idea.

It would be unusual for strange cats to take to each other right from the start, although I have seen it happen here. I have 11 cats, BTW, and they all get along well. The key is to make the introduction slow and gradual. We will be happy to give you some tips if you decide to go ahead and add to your family!

The sex of the new kitty, or the age, is not the most important thing. I would look for a mellow cat or kitten, probably another young adult. Maybe even a cat that come from a multi cat household and has been around others. Most of the cats I bring home came from other multi cat households and I knew they did well there.

Please let us know what you decide!

Regards,
PHKitkat
