I'm thinking that the kitty might actually still smell some of the stuff you cleaned the box with. She could also be associating some pain from a urinary infection with using the box which is why she leaves in a hurry, or even she somehow associates the loss of the other kitty.

Anyhow a vet visit is good to rule out any medical cause. Feliway and Comfort Zome plug-ins with Feliway might also help if she is grieving. Feliway is a synthetic scent that mimics the "happy" smell a cat leaves when s/he rubs his/her cheek against an object. The plug-ins difuse the scent and are useful for calming a stressed cat, while the spray is usually used in a place where a cat has been peeing to "mark" the spot with a happy smell and hopefully stop the behavior. The website for Feliway is www.feliway.com if you want to read more about it!

Let us know what the vet says. I am sorry about your losing the other cat.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!
