Oh, my goodness! I am having the exact same problem! My 9 year old, Faith, started pooping and peeing outside the litterbox about 8 weeks ago. A couple weeks later, she started peeing IN the litterbox, but is pooping on my carpet every other day. I have 4 cats, and she hates two of them (the two newest). She is a very jealous cat and is always cranky and full of hate unless she is alone with me. She lashes out at the other cats. I can not figure out what prompted her to go outside the box. I have six litter boxes in different areas. I've tried using different cleaners to discourage her from going on the carpet and I've tried different litter boxes in different places. I've tried cleaning the boxes several times a day to once a week. Nothing works, so I am now searching the web. My new carpet has been ruined, and everyone is trying to get me to give Faith up. I just can't do that. Thanks for listening!
