I did a internet search on this odd topic and found 2 articles which claimed that masturbation can occur in male cats who are spayed and can become a obsessive-compulsive type of behavior requiring medication. My concern is that the owner will not have the time, money or patience for the cat. She thought of using a water gun to stop the behavior.
