>> >>She is 10 and has been on medication for a hyperthyroid condition for a little over a year. The vet says that the medication is working and she is in good health. I think we might want to switch to get a second opinion – my only reservation is that April has been going to this vet since she was a few weeks old. >> >>Has anyone ever experienced anything like this in the past? How can this behavior be stopped? She has toys, food, and water available to her when she starts crying – what should I do?
My vet told me that she thought my cat was crying a lot because she might need her thyroid medicine increased. Did they do a full check of the cat? I think they said the tapazol was hard on the liver and kidneys too so maybe they also need to get checked.
Maybe your cat just likes hearing herself talk. Did you change her food recently? Is her hearing ok?
When she does it, if you know she is ok, don't get up and do anything or she will never change the habit. Good luck. My cats all get up at 5 and start hunting each other.... 4 cats meowing and chasing!
