Hi Everyone,

I am hoping someone has an idea of why my cat is doing this. He is male, and about 5 years old, and he only does this every now and then. He will start howling and crying while he is eating. It has happened with both dry and wet food and I don't suspect that there is anything wrong with his gums. There is nothing joyful about the sound, and I feel as if there is a problem that he is trying to communicate to me. Each time that this has happened, I have just taken the food away and pet him reassuringly. It happens out of the blue and he is otherwise healthy and content. He does from time to time throw up his food just after he eats, I'm not sure if he eats too much or if it is hair ball related.

Thank You,
rissy
