Cats have scent glands on their cheeks and also on their paws and usually when they rub up against things with their cheeks, they're rubbing off their scent onto that object(whether it be us, a box, cabinet, etc) I have noticed that my girls tend to do it quite a bit harder on sharp corners, often digging them into the sides of their mouths, the goofballs that they are! So basically, your kitty is marking the cabinet with the food in it hers!
