Kenya is probably showing some sort of special greeting to you. What you discribe is not usual for cats, but if you responded to her positively when she did this particular movement, she has remembered it and has sort of "locked" into it.
How large is your apartment? If you have one that allows pets, then Kenya may be happy there. I lived in apartments for 17 years before having a house and I always had a cat or two. Think about this and perhaps you can figure out a way for Kenya to come visit you and see how she does! It would take about a week for her to adjust to her new digs, but she might just be happier with you. Some cats do bond to people rather than places. -----
