3 out of 4 of my cats love the bathtub. Macaroni started it, just hopping in the bathtub when the curtain was closed fom some peace and quiet from her brothers. Then, Kuma started to like to watch the dripping faucet, he'd sit next to the water flow and hit the stream and stick his paw under the water to lick off. When Kola was big enough to jump up there the bathtub became her favorite place. She pounces at stuff moving on the other side of the shower curtain, licks up the water and slides around the floor of the tub. They all seem to like it best when it's slightly wet, and they all get wet paws, bellies, butts and sides from laying, pouncing, and playing on the wet surface. Your baby probably likes water in small doses, like on her paws. Kuma used to run away for a while when he heard us coming because he thought we were going to turn the shower on, which might be making your baby nervous. Maybe she just likes to play there alone, my old cat Pud would stop any game when someone spotted her and it looked like she would do it out of embarassment. Kitties can be so silly!

I did find that for Kuma, he was easy to please by getting a drinkwell cat fountain for him to drink from and play with. For kitties who like a running faucet this is the best. As far as the tub goes, make sure that it is well rinsed of any bath products and be sure to clean the drain after each shower so that they don't eat any of your hair (which can harm their digestive system) and let her have her fun. As long as she's not eating shampoo or something, I say play on!
