Hi there, I have a cat that does the same thing. Not only deos he love drinking water from the tap in the bath but also from the handbasin. Sometimes I see him drinking from the shower.
Reading your comments pleases me to know that I am not the only one experiencing this strange behaviour of my cat.

Someone had suggested a water fountain perhaps I should try this and see if it makes a difference.
