My cat started acting completely out of character last night. We got home at 9 PM after being gone all day. Inky had not touched his food at all, and did not meet us at the door as he always does.

Later on we were going to bed. Inky ALWAYS sits on the couch with me and my boyfriend at night, ebfore bed, and always follows us into our room and sleeps on the floor. Not last night. He meowed a few times, then started hissing at us and would not let us catch him. He finally came out from under our bed and he was very upset, licking his lips repetitively and droooling (not foaming.)

I feel like an IDIOT.. we have a croton plant and a calla lily in out back hall, and yesterday he could have gotten back there. Do you think he got poisoned by one of these plants? He has no contact at all with any other animals, domesticated or wild. He never goes outside.

He was shaking his head around a lot, and we even suspected earmites, but there is no signs of that, and how would he get them?

I really need some advice; I ah terified. I love my Inky.
