Hi,

This behavior is not all that unusual in male cats, whether they are castrated or intact. One of my boys regularly mounts a stuffed animal I keep on my bed. It is exactly what it appears to be, sexual behavior. In some cases it can also indicate dominance over another cat. When this happens a male cat may mount another male in the household. This has happened in my home.

I just accept this sexual behavior as norma for some cats. It is harmless as long as it doesn't involve aggression toward other cats.

Regards,
PHKitkat
