One night after I drew a bath for myself, I noticed my big black cat, Edna, show a little more than usual curiousity. She jumped up on the edge of the tub and sniffed the water a bit. Then she did the usual "paw the water and lick the paw" thing. But then she slid her one paw down the side and into the water. Then the other one so that her front legs were completely in the water. A little more lapping at the water and then she brought the rest of herself in. The water was about halfway up her body. Then she just slowly walked around, pawing at the little non-slip stickers on the bottom of the tub, ocassionally pulling a paw out to shake it. She spent a good 5 minutes just roaming around in there until she finally she climbed out, rather ungracefully as she had probably added a good few pounds in wet fur to her already hefty girth. Needless to say I was a little dumfounded, but she did this on about 3 other ocassions. I've heard of plenty of cats kinda playing with water but not so much a cat voluntarily getting into a tub of water and hanging out in it.
