I agree. Your cat should do okay. My sister moved from CT to NJ several years ago with her 16 yr old cats and both did splendidly. Make sure you set the cats up in seperate rooms with some of their familiar toys, beds, dishes and litterbox and a piece of furniture that they are used to...things with their own scents on them. Allow them to get used to that room for a few days and then gradually reintroduce them to each other and the rest of your home. The Feliway Comfort Zone Plug In is a good idea too. It helps keep the cats a little calmer by putting off a "happy pheramone" in the air. Good luck and looking forward to a picture of your cat.
