If there has been a noticible change in your cat's activity level, you should probably take the cat to the vet because the slow-down and diet change might be a cooincidence.

If there is no underlying medical problem, then consider feeding a minimum level a very high premium cat food with human grade meat and no corn meal.

If there are all natural ingrediants in the new food, then perhaps the additives in the old food were causing the active behavior of your cat.
