Her figure does sound a little odd, but from her behavior she sounds like she's not really sick, at least not at this point. You may be looking a "spay" pouch which many cats seem to get and not get rid of easily, even when they are not overweight.

She may have a small appetite because she is getting other bugs, etc. when you are not seeing her. Since she is active and wants to eat and socialize to an extent she more than likely doesn't feel bad and is certainly not in any great pain.

My feeling is that it could be worms, however with an over-the-counter wormer you could be asking for trouble. They have been know to make cats very ill or even kill them. She is better off with worms unless you can get her to a vet to test for a specific worm and then prescribe something especially for that parasite. However, obvivously you can't do that.

Keep working with her gently and enjoy her special friendship. You have obviously won her trust! And you've been kind to her. Bless you for that!
