Hi,

I agree with MadameAlto about ovarian tissue being left behind. This is almost always the reason for a spayed cat going into heat.

Even though your kitty cannot get pregnant, ideally, surgery should be done, and if ovarian tissue is found, it should be removed. This is because the heat cycles being repeated over and over cause a cat to be prone to mammary cancer as she gets older.

Please do talk to your vet. If he or she did the original surgery, going in again should be done at a reduced rate, or even free of charge.
