Hi There,

No vaccines are necessary for an indoor senior cat, especially one with health problems. In fact, vaccines, especially the type given in pet stores, can cause cancer in some cats at the injection site. Vaccines are not all created equal. The very safest vaccines for any cats are the Purevax ones. They are a bit more expensive but they do not set up the inflammation in the tissue that can later lead to cancer.

I personally would not give my senior cats any vaccines at all. In fact, I don't vaccinate mine at all past young adulthood. Too many risks and no real benefits. Adult cats rarely get what they are routinely vaccinated for anyway.

Please feel free to ask if this is confusing to you or you would like more info.

Regards,
PHKitkat
