Hi There,
First I'd like to say that I am very sorry for your loss. Losing such a young baby is especially difficult.
FIP is now considered more of a genetic disease than anything else, so your remaining 2 cats have a good chance of not getting it. Very often, only one cat in a household will come down with full-blown FIP. There is no reliable blood test for the disease which can make it very hard to diagnose. The standard blood test does not even test for FIP itself, but for the family of viruses to which FIP belongs.
This can be confusing, so please post again if you have any questions.
Regards, PHKitkat
