Yes, you can force feed food and water. It would be best to call your vet and give him an update on how the cat is doing. Cats, especially cats that are a bit overweight, can get fatty liver problems from not eating and it doesn't take long to happen. Try some baby food - chicken and turkey are usually the favorites. If you have a food syringe you can add a bit of water to the baby food and squirt a bit at a time in. Then pick up some Science Diet a/d from your vet and water that down.

Also, if the vet diagnosed your cat as hypothyroid, did he not also give you medication for this? Antibiotics won't help that condition. There are medications available to treat thyroid problems.
