Diabetes is a possibility for your kitty, as well as kidney failure. You really need to make an appointment with the vet for an exam and to have some labwork done. Chances are that whatever your cat has is treatable, but the sooner, the better.
It doesn't necessarily have to cost a ton of money to get a diagnosis. You can ask for the cheapest blood panel to be done, and an in-office urinalysis can be run. There is nothing wrong with making a few phone calls to compare prices if you are in a financial bind and many vets these days will arrange payment plans.
