a friend has 2 10 yr old neutered male cats. She loves the cats but to me is not very good at maintaining their yearly immunizations etc. The one cat had a vomitting problem 3 yrs ago...she did take him to a vet who did an upper gastrointestinal xray study. At that time he saw no cause for the vomitting which did resolve itself. They did notice a small cyst or tumor and recommended a ultrasound which would be done at another vet. she never had the ultrasound done but now claims that the cat has a large hard swelling on the right abdominal area. He has no other signs at this time and remains acive with a good appetite etc. My question is 2 fold Any suggestions on this type of problem and secondly any advice on making this person more responsible to seek veterinary care. I know the cat has not even received rabies shots in many years.
