Usually a cat will have one bowel movement a day, but some cats might have two. Also cats may vary depending on what they've eaten, how much exercise they've gotten and how much water they have drunk.

Unless the stools seem to be unusually runny or hard, there is probably not a problem with a cat who seems to be a bit irregular. However, if a cat is straining to produce a stool, or if s/he seems to be constipated or has diarreah then a vet needs to check on the problem.

I don't know if nursing would affect the bowels. If the cat seems to be constipated it could be a lack of water since she is losing a lot in producing milk.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!
