I have not ever had a cat with this condition...but I'm sure your vet can help you with a lot of your concerns. I couldn't find any information on redudant colon in feline on the internet so this condition must be relatively rare.

As for the surgery, I suppose if the laxatives don't work in a few weeks you'll have to consider it since the vomiting repeatedly is very bad for the kitten's health. It not only can erode his teeth, but he is not getting the nutrition he needs at this stage in his life when he is doing some major growing.
