Hi There,
Since both labwork and x-rays done on your kitty have been normal, and your cat is young, a food allergy needs to be considered. Also, your kitty may be gorging himself and that can be why the food isn't staying down.
If you are feeding one of the "supermarket" brands of food, upgrading to a better quality food might be helpful. The cheaper brands often contain lots of grains, which many cats can be allergic to. I know Royal Canin is considered a very good brand, but I am not familiar with what the food contains as far as grains. Cats aren't even able to digest carbs correctly as they lack the necessary enzymes.
If you think your baby might simply be gorging himself, try feeding smaller amounts of food more often and never leave an unlimited amount of dry food out. I have this problem with one of my males eating too much dry food too fast.
Regards, PHKItkat
