Hi There,

No, I haven't heard of a cat's fur growing in matted, but anything is possible. I feel so bad for this poor kitty.......mats are painful and she must be covered in them.

The only thing that can be done is a full-body cut, and I think it should be done at an animal hospital. This way the cat can be sedated so she won't have the anxiety problem, and they will probably be more careful and not shave off her whiskers! It's never necessary to do this unless a cat has a major wound in the area and needs to be treated.

My cat, Timothy, required a body cut on a regular basis, and he was never happier than he was after being shaved downI Once his mats were gone he thought he had a new lease on life.

Good luck with convincing your in-laws that their baby needs to be shaved. It's really very unfair to let her go on suffering.

Please let us know how things go.

PHKitkat
