I don't see how it would hurt to try as long as you stay with the baby and have a back up plan in case it doesn't go well. Like confining the baby to the room that you sleep in. I would not shut the adult out of his own house or confine him in his own house. That isn't fair to him. But it would be good to socialize her with dogs and cats if you can keep an eye on them and confine her when you are not able too.
